Google Earth Engine uses Google Maps and Google Earth to present satellite imagery and current and historical data to enable global-scale monitoring and measurement of changes in the earth’s environment.

Using Earth Engine you can browse though the data catalog and select to view satellite imagery from MODIS and Landsat 5. If you then select 'workspace' you can view the satellite imagery overlaid on Google Maps.

Each satellite imagery data set comes with a timeline slide control, so you can select the date of the imagery you wish to view. The Map Gallery section allows you to browse through maps created by Google's launch partners and the Earth Engine team.

Nous avons un certain nombre d’outils simples qui vous permettent facilement de corriger ou signaler tout problème afin de remédier à ces erreurs. Votre aide nous permet d’effectuer des mises à jour régulières et précises des cartes, de sorte que vous et d’autres utilisateurs de Google Maps puissent trouver facilement ce que vous recherchez.

Données cartographiques: signaler un problème

• Allez sur “Signaler un problème” accessible par un clic droit sur la carte ou en cliquant sur le lien en bas à droite de la carte.
• Si vous remarquez une donnée erronée, comme une route qui aurait été renommée ou une nouvelle bretelle d’autoroute, n’hésitez pas à nous le signaler. Comment modifier des données d’entreprises sur Google Maps et Google Adresses:

• Si vous remarquez des informations erronées parmi les données de Google Maps aux Etats Unis (et dans bien d’autres pays), vous pouvez mettre à jour les fichesdirectement sur Google Maps.
• Une fois que nous avons passé en revue ces modifications, la mise à jour s’effectuera en quelques heures.
• Si vous êtes propriétaire d’une entreprise qui n’est pas encore référencée, vous trouverez dans la section suivante plus d’informations concernant Google Adresses.
• Le meilleur moyen de signaler une information inexacte est d’utiliser l’outil Signaler un problème. Cet outil permet de spécifier exactement ce qui est inexact sur une fiche.
• Une fois ces problèmes signalés par l'utilisateur et une fois examinés, les mises à jour seront en ligne dans les semaines suivantes.

Mettre en ligne et modifier sa fiche sur Google Adresses

• Si vous êtes propriétaire d'une entreprise, vous pouvez également revendiquer votre fiche Google Adresses. Ainsi, vous pourrez modifier et mettre à jour les données qui apparaissent sur Google, Google Maps. Vérifier les données de votre entreprise vous permet non seulement de veiller à ce que les informations qui apparaissent sur la pageGoogle Adresses sont correctes mais aussi améliorer votre visibilité en ligne en ajoutant des photos, vidéos et même des mises à jour en temps réel comme les promotions hebdomadaires sur votre fiche Google Adresses.
• Revendiquez votre fiche sur Google Adresses en vous rendant surhttp://www.google.com/local ou en cliquant sur "Propriétaire de l'entreprise?" Sur la page d’annonce de votre entreprise.
• Vérifiez votre annonce en entrant votre code PIN. En moins d’une heure, cliquez sur le lien "Voir votre annonce sur Google Maps" qui apparait sur votre compte pour voir la page de votre fiche.
• Si des informations incorrectes apparaissent dans votre annonce, plusieurs moyenssont à votre disposition pour nous en informer et faire corriger l’information

Google Earth is creating a beautiful 3D world

When Google Earth was first released in 2005, people were amazed at the ability to view the entire planet in 3D. Of course, there really wasn't much 3D on the surface of the globe other than terrain and some gray buildings.

In early 2007, they released Google Earth 4, which included support for photo textured buildings and recently we saw the release of Google Earth 6, which saw the addition of 3D trees.

As a result of those improvements, along with the work of many talented modelers, there are often new stunning features we discover in Google Earth such as the interior model by 'PeterG' and the model of The Church of the Nativity of Our Lady by Semenov Nikolay.

Today we have a few new ones for you.

First we have the Leshan Giant Buddha, located in Sichuan, China. The model is stunningly detailed, and can be found in the 3D Warehouse here or you can fly there using this KML file. Frank discovered this one while cruising around in Google Earth, and it's a beautiful structure.

Also, we wanted to highlight the work of Zeljko Zdravkovic, who has published over 500 models in the city of Belgrade! The Google SketchUp Blog did a nice story about Zeljko, and I encourage you to check it out.

Satellite Tracking with Google Maps

NASA App HD for iPad

NASA have released a new application for the iPad. The application brings to the iPad a large range of features including mission information, images, videos and Twitter feeds.

The application also features a satellite tracker that uses Google Maps to show the paths of satellites. Using the satellite tracker you can view the visible passes of satellites for any location.

If you don't have an iPad don't worry. Sight Space Station is an amazing satellite tracking website that allows anyone to track satellites on Google Maps, with the Google Earth Browser plug-in and even in Google Street View.

The Google Map view shows the path of the satellite around the Earth and the Google Earth option allows you to view the path of the satellite as if you were looking down from space.

The most stunning feature, however, is the Street View option that allows the user to view the satellite superimposed on top of Google's Street View imagery. This is really useful as it shows the elevation of the satellite as it passes overhead.

Holy Bouncing Map Markers Batman!

Google have today released two new new animations that developers can add to Google Map markers. Firstly there is BOUNCE which simply bounces a marker indefinitely to draw attention to it. The other is DROP which adds a marker to the map by dropping it from above with a small bounce.

California Schools Ranked on Google Maps

API Scores

API Scores is a Google Map of California schools color coded by their state rank and Academic Performance Index score. Using the map parents and home buyers can explore the performance of their local schools.

The map can be filtered by type of school and rank and includes a location search bar to quickly find different areas of interest. Markers on the map show each school in that neighborhood and are color coded by school performance.

When you click on a school's map marker an information window opens displaying the performance results for that school. The two numbers represent the school's performance in statewide standardized testing.

The data for the map comes from the 2009 Base API Reports from the California Department of Education API page.

Google Maps Testing New UI

Google have been testing a new user interface for Google Maps for a couple of months now. The new design has been tested with a number of users, including Justin from 41Latitude, who has managed to create this video of the new design.

The biggest change is in the appearance of the map buttons. The buttons have been changed to larger thumbnail images. In the new design when you roll over the satellite thumbnail the layer options appear in a drop-down list.



The list of your recent map searches is also displayed in the layer panel. Another change is that the small map panel, which in the old design is shown in a small window in the bottom corner, now appears in the new thumbail button.
